Active Worship

We must actively worship God. A one-sided relationship is not a relationship. It takes two to have a real relationship. A relationship here on earth where only one person is actively involved is worthless. It may take only one to initiate the relationship, but if the other does not accept, the relationship is dead.

God calls us, but we must respond. When the church sings praises to God, we must sing out loud ourselves. We cannot be a bystander watching others. We will raise our hands and shout at a sports game; why not give God more praise than we do for a sports team? They don't know us, but God does. We must read God's Word. Let us read it out loud. Engage all of your body when worshiping God. Stretch your hands toward heaven. Speak out loud to God. Thank Him for salvation with your voice. Give Him glory with your voice. Look around at all God has created. When you do these things with a sincere heart, God's presence will be more real. Active worship drowns out the distractions around us. The Bible tells us how to actively praise and glorify God.
Praise ye the LORD. Praise God in His sanctuary:
praise Him in the firmament of His power.
Praise Him for His mighty acts:
praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
Praise Him with the sound of the trumpet:
praise Him with the psaltery and harp.
Praise Him with the timbrel and dance:
praise Him with stringed instruments and organs.
Praise Him upon the loud cymbals:
praise Him upon the high sounding cymbals.
Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD.
Praise ye the LORD.

Psalm 150
